31“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns!’
32Let the sea resound and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
33Then the trees of the forest will sing, they will sing for joy before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.
34Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
35Cry out,’ Save us, O God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name, that we may glory in your praise.’
36Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.”
~ 1.Chron.16:31-36
What a wonderful missions thrust these verses contain! May more and more people throughout the world, and especially here in the Czech Republic, cry out as David directs in the above psalm. What a beautiful picture David presents here of our God as just, good, loving, and holy. Those four adjectives contain the seeds of the Gospel, don’t they?
Thank you so much for your faithful partnership with us in the ongoing work here in the Czech Republic. We are so grateful to you and for you. As we look back over this past year, we are amazed at the many answers to prayer.
Please continue to stand with us in the two upcoming months of March and April. May the Lord continue to be your daily joy and strength as you serve Him in the many different responsibilities and spheres of influence in your lives.
1, 2 & 3 - Please pray for the Deutschmanns as they will be traveling to the US to take part in the missions conference at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Pray for safety, and pray that they would be a blessing and an encouragement to the saints there; and, above all, pray that the Lord would be glorified. Please pray the Lord would touch the hearts of some there with the call to missions.
4, 5 & 6 - Praise the Lord with us for his continued mercy toward Diana. She has had some wonderful rehabilitation and is continuing to make progress. Her present doctor is very eager to help her to obtain an electric wheelchair. Please pray that the Lord would provide and, in His time, enable Diana to return home again.
7, 8 & 9 - Please continue to pray for Eliška and Márek Urbanovi and their little daughter Alžběta. Eliška’s cancer has returned in full force. Her white blood cell count is too low to resume chemotherapy. Please ask the Lord for a miracle. Pray also for the family that they would see God’s mercy and grace in these circumstances and that He would provide for all their needs during this difficult time.
10, 11 & 12 - Praise God for more and more opportunities to share the Gospel with our students and with our friends. There are some whose hearts are currently being opened. Some of our students are asking us to pray for them. Several have come to worship with us lately.
13, 14 & 15 - Many of our students are facing job insecurity. Please pray that they would turn to the Lord in these times of need trusting Him with their lives, trusting Him to provide, and trusting that He is doing what is best, come what may.
16, 17 & 18 - Praise the Lord for the many ways He has helped us to pull all the many details together for this summer’s English camps. The teams are in place, and the camps are already full.
19, 20 & 21 - Please pray for strength for each of the team members who will be coming this summer to help with the English camps. Pray for these faithful servants as they prepare for their classes, as well as for all the other activities which make up English camp.
22, 23 & 24 - Praise the Lord with us for the Johnsons. Their one-month cross-cultural training in Brussels went very well. It was demanding but very much worthwhile. Pray for their strength and peace as they attend to all the details of moving here by the beginning of April. The process is truly daunting, but we praise the Lord for His all- sufficient mercy, grace, and strength.
25, 26 & 27 - In regard to the summer camps, please pray for the Lord to prepare the hearts and minds of our campers. Please pray for open minds as they are once again exposed to the Gospel and to the claims of Christ. Please pray that the many seeds sown would germinate and bear fruit in the Lord’s timing, for His glory, and for the eternal well-being of these dear friends.
28, 29 & 30 - Rejoice with us over the Lord’s blessings upon our church fellowship here. The Lord is continuing to draw us closer to Himself. He regularly brings visitors, and our little flock now often numbers around 40. All of us always look forward to these beautiful times of worship. You have prayed faithfully and the Lord has answered. Praise Him for His mercy!
31, Apr. 1 & 2 - Please pray for some of our dear friends who are sincerely seeking the truth. Pray that the Lord would reveal Himself to them, that He would open their hearts, and that they would come to a point of genuine repentance, faith, and peace in Christ.
3, 4 & 5 - Praise the Lord! We have found a good apartment for Johnny and Annette Johnson, who are coming to join the MTW team here in Zlin any day now. The apartment is advantageously located right in the center of Zlin. Pray that their home will become a wonderful place of ministry in the coming years.
6, 7 & 8 - Please continue to pray for the session of the Zlin Reformed Church. God is hearing your prayers. When we meet, we have sweet fellowship together; however, pray that we would become more systematic and regular in meeting together to pray for the church and to lead the church in a proactive way.
9, 10 & 11 - Praise God that we recently celebrated three years of continuous broadcasting of the Gospel in eastern Uganda. Christian radio station KTR 94.1 FM is owned by the Kapchorwa Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in Uganda and broadcasts the gospel every day in four languages.
12, 13 & 14 - Did you know that 16 years ago our MTW church planting team decided that we wanted to challenge the Czech church to send missionaries with the Gospel and not merely to receive missionaries? (Under Communism, sending missionaries was not possible.) So, over the years, we have taken the highest leaders of the Czech evangelical church with us to Uganda. Our Czech friends have faithfully helped us and keenly observed missions over the years. Their interest in becoming a “sending church” has grown and grown. Now they desire to make their own effort in foreign missions, and their goal is to go to Uganda! This will be the year when the Církev Braterská will send their own team to Uganda without us! Praise the Lord! He is so faithful and good! Please pray that He would pour out His spirit on these Czech missionaries.
15, 16 & 17 - Please pray for Rev. Daniel Hejzlar of the Czech denomination Církev Braterská, who has now been commissioned to begin Czech mission work in Uganda. Daniel and others will travel to Uganda this year. Pray for the Lord’s leading and protection.
18, 19 & 20 - The team leaders of all MTW teams in Europe are meeting in Edinburgh April 19-22. Please pray for a fruitful time of planning, sharing, worshiping, fellowshipping, and encouraging. May the Lord give us grace to lead boldly and humbly in our own respective countries so that the cause of the kingdom would be advanced and established in this beautiful part of God’s creation.
21, 22 & 23 - Please pray that God will help us to get the proper visas for the Johnsons. The rules for visas are always changing. We need wisdom from the Lord. Please pray for us in this regard. We would like to have the Johnson’s come under our legal entity in the Czech Republic, which is called Timothy Institute.
24, 25 & 26 - Praise the Lord that little Viktorka Drápalová, the youngest daughter of our pastor, had a physical checkup recently with very good results. As you might remember, Viktorka has a serious heart defect, but she is making good progress and the doctors are pleased. God has heard and answered your prayers. She will eventually require further surgeries, but for right now she’s doing amazingly well. Praise the Lord!
27 & 28 - Please pray for God to raise up more teachers for our children’s Sunday school program. This is a wonderful problem! There is a definite need to divide the children into two groups. Please pray that God would raise up teachers for the three to six-year olds.
29 & 30 - Praise God for Michael and Laura Cochran and their little baby. God has placed an intense desire in their hearts to serve with us here in the Czech Republic. As they begin the process with MTW, please pray that the Lord would lead them every step of the way. Please also pray that He would open the door wide for them to come here if this truly is His calling upon their lives.
